Rapp Bomek and Statoil last year signed a frame agreement for supply of internal and external fire doors to the Johan Sverdrup field development. The production of fire doors to the entire project will run through 2016 and partly into 2017. This frame agreement and the option for deliveries to the projects Johan Sverdrup phase II, Johan Castberg, Snorre 2040 and Peregrino is one of the largest contracts in the company's history. Now the production has been started and it will ensure good capacity utilization at Rapp Bomek for many months.
"This agreement is very important for Rapp Bomek as the company consolidates its position as a world leader in the global oil and gas market for fire doors. In a market which for a long period now has experienced reduced investment rate the contract is also important for employment in Rapp Bomek. We are very proud to have got this assignment from Statoil and we will ensure that the project is going to be delivered with customary high Rapp Bomek quality on time" says CEO Terje Bøe.
A new adventure on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS)
Johan Sverdrup field is located only 155 km west from Stavanger and it is one of the five biggest oil fields on the Norwegian continental shelf. With expected resources of between 1.7 – 3.0 billion barrels of oil equivalent, it will also be one of the most important industrial projects in Norway over the next 50 years. Peak production on Johan Sverdrup will be equivalent to 25% of all Norwegian petroleum production.
