Rapp Bomek, a global leader in supplying fire and safety doors for the oil and gas industry, once again shows competitiveness in one of its new subsegments within construction and infrastructure industry. The contract signed with Åsane Byggmesterforretning includes a total delivery of doors to the project.
Phase 2 of the development of the Children and Youth Clinic at Haukeland University Hospital is a large development of 50 000 m2 with a total investment cost of 5.4 billion NOK. The construction project started with phase 1 in 2011 and was completed in the autumn of 2016. Phase 2 - and thus the entire Children's and Youth Hospital - is scheduled to be completed at the turn of the year 2022/2023.
“We are very proud to be awarded this contract by Åsane Byggmesterforretning on this prestigious project. Rapp Bomek has recently targeted the hospital market which has major development plans in the coming years. This market fits very well with the products and services offered by Rapp Bomek and it is an important confirmation that the strategic measures initiated in 2016 give us now the desired results,” says CEO Terje Bøe.
“Rapp Bomek has gone from being a product supplier to the oil industry to a comprehensive security solution-provider for several markets, including construction, infrastructure and security markets. There has been hard work over time in the organization, where the focus has been on establishing a strong market position in the new markets, as well as serving the traditional oil and gas markets. I am proud to lead an organization that - with this contract to a new market segment - has taken a big step into this market through the strategic measures that has been implemented" says Terje Bøe.
"This may seem like a small step for the industry, but it is actually a big step for Rapp Bomek," says Sales and Marketing Director Per Arne Haug. The statement comes from the fact that Rapp Bomek is known as a pure Norwegian safety door manufacturer with steel doors as main products. In this project the company will deliver the majority of the doors made of wood and laminate. Haug further states that "in this project, Rapp Bomek, together with subcontractors' ability to industrially deliver cost-effective total solutions to a demanding building and construction industry, was crucial for Rapp Bomek winning this contract.”
