2 PURPOSE
Our purpose and intention in working with transparency laws are to ensure that we, our supply chain, and business partners uphold and safeguard human rights while ensuring decent working conditions. At a higher level, this means that our suppliers and business partners are aware of what these rights entail and what we, as customers, expect from them.
Rapp Bomek AS works towards upholding the fundamental human rights as adopted by the United Nations. Decent working conditions, in our understanding, involve work that upholds basic human rights, occupational health and safety, and provides a livable wage.
Our ambition is to be advocates for human rights and decent working conditions, and our work in this area is an ongoing process where we identify risks, implement measures to reduce risks, and take corrective actions if negative events are uncovered.
3 OUR WORK WITH TRANSPARENCY LAWS
Rapp Bomek AS emphasizes conducting our due diligence assessments in line with OECD guidelines. Initially, we have focused on embedding responsibility in our guidelines and assessing the risk that our business may cause or contribute to actual or potential negative consequences for fundamental human rights and/or decent working conditions.
You can read our guidelines here.
Our supply chain, from raw materials, is extensive and complex. By supply chain, we refer to the entire chain of suppliers and subcontractors that deliver or produce goods, services, or other input factors involved in the company's production from the raw material stage to the finished product.
Business partners, in our context, refer to anyone who directly supplies goods or services to the company but is not part of the supply chain.
In our risk assessment, we have conducted an analysis of our suppliers, evaluating the risk and the drivers behind these risks for our suppliers. These risk drivers include:
• Country
• Industry
• Product
We have also assessed whether there are specific risks associated with any of the actors in our supply chain, such as:
• Complex supply chains
• Particularly hazardous work
• Unorganized labor – seasonal workers
• Migrant workers
• Recruitment agents
• Indigenous populations
• Vulnerable groups
• Conflict areas
In our mapping efforts, we have utilized the above risk drivers and made assessments based on the volume of purchases to identify suppliers we want to further investigate. We evaluate our suppliers based on the following criteria:
• Quality
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
• System
• Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
• Other company information, including human rights
• ESG Policy
